OilAlert & OilLife

Online and continuously monitoring and maintenance of oil condition in engines (propulsion/auxiliary genset/emergency genset) – hydraulic systems – gear boxes – oil cooled transformer – all in different applications on land/sea/offshore.

We are happy to delivery OilLife & OilAlert to almost all types of equipment which contains oil to keep a close eye on the oil condition and keep maintenance cost down and not least, easy to determine oil condition.

An easy to install sensor who continuously monitor the oil condition and able to inform the operator not on site but also remotely on present condition.

In case of any abnormality the sensor will warn and allow the operator to act.

Technically is the sensor a well-tested and patented technology which measures both oil’s capacitance and conductance, a combined measure known as permittivity. The combined data provides a reading that is, on average, up to 60 times more sensitive than di-electric sensors that only measure capacitance.

In combination with a robust and reliable design which makes it possible to install almost in every environment.

The OilAlert sensor detects:

  • Oxidisation
  • Water Contamination
  • Glycol Contamination
  • Fuel Contamination
  • Dirt Contamination
  • TAN
  • TBN
  • Viscosity Breakdown
  • Wear Particles
  • Soot
  • Oil Temperature

In any mineral, semi-synthetic or synthetic oil.

Output is possible in following ways:

  • RS232 (9600 baud bi-directional)
  • RS485 (9600 baud half duplex)
  • Modbus (on RS232 & RS485)
  • CANbus (CANopen protocol)

Which can use either in a simple green/yellow/red traffic light next to the equipment but also in the respective equipment’s control system + remote monitoring.

OilAlert - how it works

The OilLife system is a low-flow filtration and evaporation system as an alternative to traditional oil filters. The OilLife do not replace the maker installed filters but is used as an addition.

Technically is it a dual action in form of filtration and evaporation – the filtration part removes particulates as small as 1 micron and the thin-film evaporation part removes damaging gases and liquids.

The filter unit consist of a long-strand, protein-rich cotton part to filter out contamination as small as 1 micron combined with a heated evaporation chamber where liquid contaminants and gases evaporate and are vented.

The OilLife filter unit is suitable for engines between 300 and 1,000 HP with oil capacities from 30 to 200 liters. For higher outputs and oil capacities can multiple units be installed in parallel so almost every engine size is covered.

Why install an additional filter unit:

  • Prolong the effective life of your oil up to 4 times, improving lubrication, extending drain intervals and reducing equipment wear.
  • Reduce cost through prolongs the effective life of your oil, improving lubrication, extending drain intervals and reducing equipment wear.
  • Reduced likelihood of costly unscheduled maintenance due to breakdown.
